How AGNES RF Microneedling Works
The AGNES was developed as safe and effective radio frequency technology to target a variety of tissue types and depths using ultrafine needles that gently puncture the skin and deliver RF energy. The needle depth and device settings have been precisely calculated to target deep, medium or superficial fat and other specific structures within the skin.
The energy produced by the AGNES needles melts unwanted fat, stimulates collagen production, and tightens the skin based on the depth of energy delivered below the surface. Additionally, an innovative insulation coating on the needles protects the skin surface and structures within the skin minimizing irritation and damage to the skin surface. Less irritation and damage equates to minimal or no downtime. The AGNES is able to deliver pinpoint treatments to specific areas such as under eye bags, sagging eyelids, droopy jowls, deep wrinkles, cystic acnes and more! Most patients see improvement within two weeks to four months after treatment.
What To Expect
Topical numbing cream is applied 20 minutes before your procedure. Areas to be treated are marked and numbed with local anesthetic injections if needed. Dr Zamora works to make sure there is minimal discomfort during the treatment. For the actual treatment; the appropriate ultrafine needle is inserted into the wrinkle, fat pad, or acne follicle and the AGNES device is triggered with a precise number of RF pulses depending on the area being treated. Patients will have some redness after the treatment that may persist for 24-48 hours, although many patients have minimal discoloration as soon as 3 hours after the treatment. Swelling and minimal bruising of treated areas is also normal for a few days up to a week. The smaller the treatment area, the shorter the recovery time. Improvement is generally seen after one treatment, but a series of 1-3 treatments may be needed (depending on the amount of volume/contouring needed). For active acne treatments you may be advised to return in 24 to 48 hours for a light bipolar RF treatment plus further drainage of any remaining sebum/pus.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
Benefits are seen from a single treatment and may be permanent. However, 2-3 treatments may be needed to get the best result. Treatments are typically spaced 2 to 6 months apart with acne treatments scheduled 6 weeks apart. Results vary based on individual circumstances.
